POINTS OF INTEREST IN KOS
The ancient hospital from Hippocrates is the biggest archaeological site on the island of Kos, dedicated to Asclepius, god of healing. It is situated about 4 km from the center. Beside the historical interest , there is also a wonderful view across the town of Kos and the coastline of Turkey.
Remains of the temple of Dionysos, the Roman Theater, Casa Romana, remains of Hellenistic and Roman Baths and the Hellenistic Gymnasium and Stadium.
A festival held every year in August with theater, concerts, flower show, folk art and a presentation of the Hippocratic Oath.
Situated on the south side of the castle, Hippocrates is traditionally believed to have taught his disciples there.
